Carbide Dies

Tungsten-carbide dies for high-volume cold forming, where wear life decides the cost per part.

Carbide dies are the highest-duty tooling we make. A pressed carbide insert is set into a steel case, so the forming surface carries the load while the case takes the shock and the mounting.

We machine the case on CNC, sink or wire-cut the profile, then finish-grind after vacuum heat treatment so the bore and seating faces hold their relationship. The result is a die that keeps its form far longer than a solid steel equivalent on the same station.

Features

  • Pressed carbide insert in a steel case
  • Vacuum heat treated case for shock resistance
  • Ground bore and seating faces after treatment
  • Profiles cut by die-sink or wire EDM
  • Built across the 8B–38B range

Applications

  • High-volume hex and flange nut forming
  • Stations where die wear drives changeover frequency
  • Abrasive or high-load forming duties
  • Repeat production where part consistency matters
